In the heart of historic St Albans is our shop. The bakery is upstairs and the cafe is downstairs – offering friendly table service and take away puds. We open 7 days a week from early in the morning until late at night. Our bakers, baristas and servers are always on the go.
Every morning by 9am we have morning pastries on the counter and are ready to serve buttermilk pancakes and French toast with a speciality coffee or proper pot of tea.
By midday the bakers are in full flow filling doughnuts, baking brownies and blowtorching lemon meringue pies for the counter.
Just before 4pm Penelope sets off for St Albans City Train Station jam-packed with pud ready for the tired, hungry and often-late commuters returning home.
When Penelope returns soon after 8pm the shop is full with guests enjoying their evening pudding with an Irish coffee or espresso martini. They may have had dinner at home, or eaten elsewhere but they are all here for one thing, our pudding.
